Merry Christmas! This was taken after Baylor's pre-school Christmas program where they dazzled us with their songs! "Mary had a baby, my lord" is my favorite as well as Baylor's. He sang it all the time for us at home. Also, "3 wise men" sang to the tune of "three blind mice". We all loved it!

Yes, This just happened") See, last night we had gone to Costco for a few things, and ended up bringing home this box of chips for lunches. I put them on top of the freezer so the little boys weren't able to sneak eating them all in the next couple of days, and today, I have Gunnar, Kody and Baylor here. Well, Gunnar comes in from the garage and tells me, ummm shelley? Baylor is stuck on top of the freezer. Of course I knew why he was there, walked in and couldn't help but bust up laughing. Once I could compose myself, I said to Baylor, you got caught huh? Why is this wrong? Of course, he knew, and felt very terrible. I did make him stay there while I took his picture. That was punishment enough. Well, and I didn't give them any chips. They all got to learn the lesson of taking part in the crime") So, when I let him down, I hugged him and kissed him and he said, "Mommy, I won't ever do that again". He is my baby")

We went to our favorite spot for a Christmas tree...St. Joe's church across from the stadium. We have gone over there for the last 6 years, and find a great tree each year. At dinner, before we left to buy our tree, and on the way there, we listened to my favorite Christmas album! Mitch Miller, which we will be singing along to at the "Borgen Family Christmas party" this year! We got into the spirit singing along! Ryan was the one who found the tree this year. It was the first one he saw and it was it! Of course, I had to look around for a bit, but all the boys wanted this one. We brought the tree home, pulled out all of Christmas boxes and started to string the tree. You think we would know by now, to test all the strings before we start! Well, at least the ones on the tree worked, but by the end, we were 2 strands short! Ryan rushed to Walgreen's at 8:30 at night to get some more, while I stayed home and continued to go through boxes. And wouldn't you know it...there were 4 more strings in the bottom of the last box!!! OF COURSE THERE WAS! And yes, they worked! Oh well, Jenner took the extra stings and put them up in his room! He loves it! We took Stacey & Dan's lead on the placing of the Angel on the top of the tree. Ryker won "rock, paper, scissors" and got the honor. We also watched the Polar Express and went to bed a little late! Jenner ended up sleeping on the couch that night. It was always one of my favorite things to do too! Fall asleep to the lights of the tree") Merry Christmas!

My mom & I threw my cousin Erica a baby shower over Thanksgiving weekend for baby #3! She is having a girl & is due the 1st week of Jan. but is hoping to go early. Her husband, Andy, has his birthday is right after Christmas so maybe she will be his birthday present! They will not reveal the name until she is born, which drives me crazy! But, they like to make the name decision on their own. They have done that with their other 2 kids, and they did a great job, so I'm sure we will all love this little girls name too! We can't wait to see her! We played a couple of games. One game was the "candy bar" game where you play "memory" with funny words that go with the candy bar. Like "night of conception" = Score candy bar") The other that was pretty fun, was the balloon pregnancy game! You split the party into 2 teams, each take turns blowing up your own balloon, then put it under your shirt (pregnant) and once everyone has done that, the 1st person pops their balloon any way they can with out taking it out of their shirt. This is how they "give birth". The team that gives birth first, wins! It was so funny watching people laying down on the floor trying to pop that balloon! So funny!

We kind of like cookies in this house! We were all needing a cookie, so Ryan and Baylor made us Oatmeal cookies, this way they are healthy, right!

Baylor and Gunnar get together 3 times a week! I usually have Tuesday mornings, Grandma Beauchamp has them Wed. after noon and Gloria, takes Thursday mornings! It's a great life isn't it! This Tuesday that we had Gunnar over, it was raining outside so I thought I better find something for them to do! we made giant sugar cookies and frosted them.

Halloween 2008

Ryker's pumpkin is this EKU one, in case you were confused") Well, Halloween was really different this year.
First of all, I have a high school student. Guess where he was. I know what your thinking, but Ryker, is a better kid than Ryan or I") HA! He just hung out at the football game down at lampson stadium, watching Southridge games, both Freshman and Varsity. Came home and got ready to go duck hunting with his friends, Troy and Casey. They came up empty handed, no ducks.
Jenner, 6th grade, middle school. HE was at the party! Past his curfew no less, oh, and forgot his phone. He was a Crazy Mariners Fan. Crazy being the wig")
Baylor was a cowboy. Don't you love the pose! Ryan and I took him trick or treating around the neighborhood across the street. It took about an hour and he was done. He ate 3 snack Hershey crunch bars and went to bed. He got a 1lb zip lock full. Not bad this year. I don't think we'll get fat of this candy...last year we had enough candy that it lasted us through the new year!
Ryan and I watched "The Strangers". I was so excited for this movie because I love scary movies. Ryan, not so much. He watched it with me, but the next day, well the next night, after I let the kids watch it, cause they like scary movies too, he informed me it was giving him nightmares! Not terrible ones, but the movies freak him out. It is based on a true story, so it freaked me out too! But not, night mares! I felt bad. I promised to never make him watch one again! The boys didn't think it was very scary.
So like I said, different. I only had one costume to put together, and how much easier could it have been? Jenner came up with his on his own. Ryker I didn't see that day from 7am - 10pm! I think my kids are growing up.

Deer Hunting 2008

Sunday, Oct. 19th 2008, last day of regular deer season and they pulled it off! 3 deer today! They went to the traditional spot, of "Napsinger's" land which is where Ryker got his 3 point buck. Later they moved to "Kelly's" place in Tucannon, which is where Jenner & Ryan got their deer. I think we are set on red meat for a while")

Ryan got his Moose!

Ryan had a great 7 day hunting trip up in Canada with 3 other guys. He had many adventures! 1) one of the guys was bucked off his horse and broke his one rib in 3 places, bruised his heart and kidney and was helicoptered out to the hospital! The whole ordeal took 24 hours to get him out of the forest, to the hospital and finally he got to call his wife to tell her he was ok, but she had to go get him and bring him home where his is on bed rest for 2 wks! What a scare! 2) Ryan and the guys had a grizzly about 30 yards from them that actually stood up and did the scary grizzly thing! The guide Ryan was with stood up and yelled at the bear until it ran away. Ryan said he was never so scared as that moment! There were grizzly everywhere! They were always on the look out! There are tons more stories, but Ryan must tell them") We have about 400lbs of meat now and a nice 41" wide set of antlers! (The cape was cut to short so we don't have a head mount, but I'm ok with that") We haven't tried the meat yet, but I'm sure we will this weekend!

I pickled my peppers")
I picked all my jalapenos off the plants when I took down the garden the other day. (see "1st harvest crew" )So I put them all in mason jars. hmmm, I think I should have used smaller jars. What are we going to do when we open a whole mason jar of jalapenos? there's about 2 dozen or more in each jar! But honesty, I just needed to pickle the pour jalapenos so they wouldn't go to waste. I just only wanted to make one batch") I found the recipe on line. I'm hoping and thinking it will work?") pretty easy. I'll report back once we open a jar. Maybe at our BBQ when we break out the Moose and Cow and Deer! Oh, you'll hear about that soon")

my first harvest crew")2008

This was our first year with a big garden! We had a few more things than pictured below, but that was earlier in the season") This summer, we harvested zucchini, pickling cucumbers, a couple of strawberries, green beans, & spinach! Today, we picked a ton of green and red tomatoes, super sweet corn, jalapenos & a sun flower. Of course, everyday, we get a mix of red and white eggs! It's been a great season and we can't wait for next year! OK, so my first "real" gardening experience was pretty good. I spent all winter, studying my organic gardening book my mom got me for my bday. I mapped out my garden, researching where to put plants for proper sun, you know, so I don't shade my garden with my corn or things like that. My dad and sister, Allison, and Ryan, all helped me dig out my "wide, deep, loose" rows (by the book) and I was set. What I learned....definitely start seeds in a green house or your house, so if we get another summer like this one...I'm not harvesting tomatoes at the end of September! I also don't need to make so many rows, or necessarily dig out my walk ways. This next garden, we are extending it so that all the corn and pumpkins, and other melons can go crazy and not take up my "regular" garden. I am also going to only have 3 REALLY wide rows") Plant about 1/4 of the tomatoes that I did this year and plant tons more beans") Oh, and this next year, I vow to stagger my planting, so I have veggies going all summer! I can't wait for next year! I think I'll spend this winter planning") Here's to a great season")

Ryker had his 1st football game as a Lion, Sept. 4th, 2008. He is number 28 and was one of the captains for the coin toss. They lost, but Ryker had a great game with 2 interceptions and over a dozen tackles! I was a proud mama")

Jenner and I went to the concert Cheep Trick, Heart & Journey at the white river amplitheater in Auburn Washington. We LOVED HEART the most") We went with our cousins, Kristy and Kayleb. We stayed the weekend at another cousin's house, Nanette! We had a great time catching up and hanging out with family! Kristy is an avid thrift store shopper, so she and Kayleb hit a couple while we were there. She scored for all of us! I got 7 new sweaters and a couple shirts! It was a great weekend!

First day of school 2008

My 1st baby is in HIGH SCHOOL!!!! Here is Ryker, age 14, on his way to his freshman year at Kennewick!
My 2nd baby is in MIDDLE SCHOOL!!! Jenner, age 12, is on his way to 6th grade at Horse Heaven!
My 3rd baby is in pre-K at Little Treasures! He is quite annoyed that his friends and cousins are in kindergarten already! He keeps saying "one more pre-school right mama, then kindergarten."

Saturday, July 26, 2008

Ryker was lucky enough to participate in this years Mormon Treck. His Ma and Pa for the Treck, was uncle Brad and Aunt Gloria Beauchamp. It was fun to put what he needed together (Gloria did most of the work for me) but Ryker used his Grandpa Eby's old work boots and hat, and he and I went shopping at the 2nd hand store for the appropriate attire. According to his aunt and uncle, the girls like him, and he pulled his weight pulling the cart! It was a good experience:)

Baylor is 4! Happy Birthday Baylor! Even though this is Feb. we had a beautiful day in the sun! It was like spring! Baylor got a new swingset built by his daddy, grandpa Eby and uncle Cooper. There must be over 1000 pieces to these things! Amazinly, they got it done that night! Baylor wanted white cake with strawberries") He had a great day!
